How I Learned to Appreciate
the Struggles of Motherhood
For 5 years
I have been on serious sleep deprivation, my body aches, my brain many times is foggy, the laundry in the basket seems to triplicate during the night, I got used to walking around in stained clothes and way too often I feel overwhelmed and tensed.
But I also have moments of joy and gratitude,
when I see my kids smile, hug, learn, and play. When I hear them say ‘I love you, Mommy’ or ‘I made this for you, Mommy’. When I watch them sleep peacefully and cuddle with them.
So, embrace even the difficult days and get courage from knowing that “It will all pass. It might feel like a kidney stone, but it will pass”.
Just look at how much my youngest daughter has changed in the past week or so.
She has:
potty trained during the day, so there is no more nappy washing (we used reusable ones),
graduated from daycare and is ready for preschool,
expanded her vocabulary and is talking in such full sentences that many times she amazes us,
developed her own personality and preferences.
She is becoming a little young lady and I’m so proud of her.
So, dear worn-out-overwhelmed-Mamas, don’t let the struggles of motherhood get you down.
Remember that you are not alone, and that you are doing the best you can.
Remember that every challenge is an opportunity to grow and learn, both for you and your kids.
Remember that every moment is precious and fleeting, and that you will miss them when they are gone.
Remember that you are the most important person in your kids’ lives, and that they love you unconditionally.
Remember that you are amazing, and that you deserve to be happy.
And most of all, remember to love yourself, because you are worth it. 💕
With much love,
